BRICS Digital Humanities Project.

The BRICS Digital Humanities Project explores the intersection of artistic research and the socio-political environment in Johannesburg, Pune, Beijing, Moscow, and Sao Paulo. The project aims to create a platform for artistic research that responds to the complexities of the current global south paradigm, specifically within the BRICS experiment. Through symposia, workshops, and co-making activities, the project develops a repository of encounters and dialogues of practice that address the uncertainties of our present context. The project culminated in a symposium titled "Arts Knowledge(s): Daily Rituals and Aesthetic Practice," which focused on visual culture and its impact on our understanding of the world through screens. The digital project offers a multimedia archive of the mobility project, which serves not only as an archive but also as a platform for dialogue and exchange.

The BRICS Digital Humanities Project investigates the interconnectedness of aesthetics and politics in local contexts and emphasizes the need to revitalize questions around film language. It provides a space for critical reflection on the socio-political environment and its impact on artistic research. The project's accomplishments were made possible by the support of NIHSS, and you are invited to explore the project's digital humanities site to learn more.
